The first Progressive Youth Conference, organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC), scheduled to hold on 14-15 June, have been postponed until June 21, 2021.
The first of its kind Youth Conference is aimed at restating Progressives values of the APC, enlightening young people on quality leadership, good governance, national development, and also inspiring a new generation to the mainstream of the APC towards a surer political future.
The Publicity Sub-Committee of the APC Youth Conference, on Tuesday, said the change in date was consequent upon huge interests shown by both members of the Party and others, Nigerians, diasporas as well as members of international communities around the world.
“Therefore, In consultation with the leader of the Party, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Party’s Extraordinary Caretaker Committee, the organizers of the conference under the leadership of the Party’s National Youth Leader, Barr. Ismael Ahmed has decided to shift the date of the conference to 21st June in order to accommodate these enthusiastic global interests in the conference.
“We regret any inconveniences the shift of the date that might have caused in your calendar of events.”
Recall that in May 2021, Ismaeel Ahmed, the APC National Youth Leader and a member of the Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, in a statement, said the CECPC, has approved the hosting of its Progressives Youth Conference.
The conference which will be the first of its kind in Nigeria, would be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari at the International Conference Center (ICC), Abuja.
